Swirly
I have to stop online shopping.
Look at what I bought. GIANT ridiculous lucite cabochons!
I think crazy-60s-Pucci-paisley patterns are coming back again this summer, and I’m going to make sterling silver adjustable rings out of these.
Wear them with your summer dresses!

sniffles
I am at home sick today. I must have caught a cold sometime yesterday because it feels as though several mid-sized sedans have backed over me consecutively.
All I’m doing today is resting and looking at recipes on FoodGawker.
I want to make these Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies by 6 Bittersweets. Click image for the recipe!

I would consider moving to Saskatchewan.
There’s a lot of great open sky, drastic weather, cheap churches to convert into houses, April is here, and adventures are always just around the corner.
I’m going home tomorrow.
I have tons of great jewelry designs in my head and hopefully a lot of supplies in my mailbox!

Love, Saskatchewan- part 2

We stayed at the White Fox Hotel last night because there is only one place to stay in Love and it had been booked up AGES ago. The White Fox Hotel was empty and cheap ($44 bucks for a double room) and we got the Pink room. The bathroom door didn’t really close and it was cold, but worth it.
White Fox boasts many amenities such as Morin’s Taxidermy, a grain elevator, and a Presbyterian church that looks like a castle. It was agreed that we would all stay in White Fox again, if only to go to it’s “World Famous” Diner.
If you go in winter, beware of getting run over by snowmobiles; they are more prevalent than trucks.

Love, Saskatchewan-part 1

April, Alison, and I attended Love’s 39th Annual Winter Festival yesterday. Events: Track van rides, chain saw competition, nail driving, pillow fights, leg & arm wrestling, and games of chance. The Track Van was huge and in the 10 minute ride we had they probably burned the amount of gas it took us to drive the 3 hours north.
The dance at the end of the night was fun: I two-stepped with a high school boy, watched fireworks with my ladies, and didn’t partake in the midnight lunch consisting of bologna and spam with buns and cheddar cheese.

Teak and ceramic butter dish- $0.30
Vintage Italian leather boots- $4

Not pictured is an amazing 100 year old trunk for $25. The original lining is inside. I’m going to put quilts in it!

Millenium Falconry
One of my dreams when I was a girl was to live in a castle and be a falconer.
Did you know there is an Alberta Falconry Association?
In theory, I would love to answer, “What are you doing this weekend?” with “Oh, you know, just banding raptors.” but I would just want the falcons to be free.

Better home
I’ve accumulating a lot of stuff since moving back to Edmonton 2 years ago.
It’s mostly thrifted clothes and random found furniture.
I missed the clothes swap a week ago, and now I’m sad because I have a ton of stuff I could have given!
I’m working on it though.
Ashley came by and got the red alley thrifted IKEA chair (no matter how hard Jill and I tried, it just didn’t fit in with the living room chairs).
My mom is coming by to get all of the clothes I’ve put aside (over a third of my wardrobe… we’re the same size)
I should probably go through my fabrics and craft stuff, but I have a hard time giving supplies away; I always think I’m going to need them in case of a yarn emergency.
