Jeanie Andronyk is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist specializing in metal work, but dabbling in everything else. Growing up on a farm in rural Alberta, her father's scrap metal pile was a doorway to endless worlds, and her mother’s imagination and inventiveness inspired a rich day-to-day life of constant creativity.
Drawing inspiration from nature, futurology, and ancient civilizations, Andronyk's formalist abstract bronze sculptures point to a humanity in the inanimate with a focus on form and feeling. Her self-portraits capture the raw basic emotions that expose the dichotomy of our highly technological world.
Jeanie Andronyk lives on a farm in rural Saskatchewan, using the stark prairie landscape as a backdrop to her artistic process.
