In theory, I would love to answer, “What are you doing this weekend?” with “Oh, you know, just banding raptors.” but I would just want the falcons to be free.
I’ve accumulating a lot of stuff since moving back to Edmonton 2 years ago.
It’s mostly thrifted clothes and random found furniture.
I missed the clothes swap a week ago, and now I’m sad because I have a ton of stuff I could have given!
I’m working on it though.
Ashley came by and got the red alley thrifted IKEA chair (no matter how hard Jill and I tried, it just didn’t fit in with the living room chairs).
My mom is coming by to get all of the clothes I’ve put aside (over a third of my wardrobe… we’re the same size)
I should probably go through my fabrics and craft stuff, but I have a hard time giving supplies away; I always think I’m going to need them in case of a yarn emergency.
Wow, have I ever been a hermit lately.
It is either a matter of being super focused and making a lot of stuff, or I am still in hibernation mode because it’s winter.
Either way, I’m jeweling up some delectables:
Sorry if we don’t hang out. I’ll come out and play when it’s warm!
[One exception to this case: Valentine's Day adventure to Love, Saskatchewan (pop. 104) in a few weeks !]
These are my first bezel set stone pieces. They aren’t absolutely perfect, but I think they are great for my first ones.
The first piece is a 10mm Carnelian bezel set on sterling silver, and the second is a 25mm Labradorite set in sterling silver as well which I am going to put on a long chain and pretend it’s a monacle.
I learned how to bezel today (A bezel setting looks like THIS). I tried to learn off the internet, so I had most of the steps down, but Leanne showed me the secret tricks to making it perfect. Now I just have to practice more so I can see the range of things that I will be able to do.
I’m so excited.
I have a 25mm labradorite cabochon (lab cab) that I’m going to ravage in the next few days.
Sterling silver earrings cast from vintage buttons.
They will be on etsy soon, I just have to wait for daylight
for some better lighting.
It’s hard to find pairs when vintage buttons are involved;
usually I get bags or randoms from garage sales or thrift stores and just get singles, so this is a rare pair.
