I’d like to build us a home in the trees

via culturesponge

I am busy planning my year ahead ( I apologize for the infrequency of my updates!).

This winter I have been hibernating to the max. I love it.  I have been so productive in all aspects of my life and crafting my ass off.  Last winter I was so busy with teaching Yoga, teaching workshops, having a Holistic practice, taking classes, doing readings and crafting that I didn’t have time for myself.   This year I have been cooking a lot more, walking Molly the dog, spending time with my closest friends, and reflecting on the possibilities of the year to come.

Some goals:

-do some vending at a festival or two
-go on some rural adventures with April
-have more cuddles
-learn how to do claw settings
-hold Scorpion pose for 2 minutes
-successfully make falafel from SCRATCH
-invest more money in my RRSP
-finish my design portfolio
-take driver training (I am terrified of driving in the city… gravel roads are much more to my liking)
-chill out at my farm for a few weeks; pet cows, wildcraft herbs, listen to Grandma’s stories
-teach a summer Yin Yoga class

One of my intentions this year was to write more letters, and I’ve been decimating my stamp supply. If you want to get in on the action, email me your address!

Best way to apologize ever.

Potential.

I think it’s possible I could be a cat lady. I’m single right now so I project all my love and cuddles on poor unsuspecting kitties. (Look how much he hates it.)

If this continues I will adopt strays and start wearing aprons all the time and store the cats in the pockets.

One of my submitted pieces was published on CraftGawker a few days ago.  Woo!

I’m using my new cabochons to make ridiculous giant crazy cocktail summer rings.  A lot of folk in the Etsy chats and forums have been requesting adjustable rings in sterling silver, and I think this design works. It’s comfortable and the silver is malleable enough to adjust, yet strong and firm enough that it will never break.

Wear this ring with THIS hair.

back to life

I am 100% well and most productive.

I haven’t listed anything on Etsy forever!
(Dudes, I need a light box to take photos.)

When I was at April’s in Saskatoon, she let me go through her button collection.

I brought home A LOT of detailed and super cool buttons. That girl knows how to thrift.
All my secret garage-sale-ing Sith Lord tricks come from April. For example: If you’re an advanced garage sale-r, you forego garage sales altogether and keep your eyes out for the ESTATE sales.  If you do go garage sale-ing, make sure to go before 9am, or all the good stuff will taken by the other hardcore GSers.

How GORGEOUS is it today? My mom and I went to the Italian market and got some ridiculous cheeses and took Molly for the longest walk.  There were sleigh rides in Park Allen today and the jingling from the bells on the horses are still ringing in my head. So lovely.

I’m going to have a Jeanie party and dance in my living room and bake and do some yoga. Most notably, lunge.

Happy Sunday!

learn to step lightly

If you’re from Canada, you know this song.

Your Grandma can play it on the fiddle.

You watched this before The Raccoons after you came back from school.

up and at them

As soon as I feel better and not sneezing all over the place I’m going to:

  • cut my hair: it seems like I grew a mullet in 3 days
  • resume the 36mm Malachite bezel setting from hell (anyone have any tips on doing really large shallow settings?)
  • do a handstand
  • turn some of my sketches into some real life jewelry
  • watch a movie that didn’t come from isohunt
  • buy some kale so I can make this (click image for recipe):

WordPress Woes

I’ve been on WordPress for 6 months and I’m frustrated with it.

Unfortunately, WordPress doesn’t allow for Javascript code and the only theme I like is the one I have now!

I switched from Blogger originally because I really loved how WordPress themes looked more mature, but now I realize the limitations of their statistics, and how not user-friendly it is.

So bear with me as I figure it all out!

[edit: I figured out a way to get around all my javascript preferences, so I am going to stick to WordPress! Hooray for overcoming website obstacles!]
